nChapter 6
nAnhao turned a deaf ear upon hearing these words and headed back to her room.
nThere was no way the Gu family would come and settle this for her as they itched to make a clean break with her.
n***
nThe next day, afternoon.
nAnhao was actually unsure whether Zuo Hancheng would come or not. Despite sitting in the classroom to stall for time as she did not want to go to the police station, she was at last being escorted there by a police car.
nThe two boys who she attacked and their parents were present at the police station, along with the principal of A High School.
nThe parents of the Xu family were renowned real estate developers in A City, while their relatives worked in the government sector as high officials. All of them were not only of high authority, but also famous on both sides of business administration.
nEven the Public Security Bureau would not dare mess with them, let alone a small police station.
n“Oh, this is the little girl who beat up my sons?”
nMrs. Xu stood up immediately upon seeing Gu Anhao walking in.
n“Mrs. Xu!”
nAfter stepping forward, the principal smiled apologetically. “As you all know, Mayor Gu, who is also Gu Anhao’s father, is currently too occupied to take care of this. So, it’s best for us to resolve this privately. Just treat it as we’re doing this for Mayor Gu and not involve the police.”
nMrs. Xu sneered. “Well, I heard that neither of Gu Anhao’s parents has ever shown up the past three years despite the fact that she’s part of the Gu family as the information here suggests. This wild child here who came out of nowhere probably swindled and impersonated her identity as the daughter of a mayor just to bring down A High School.”
nAnhao impatiently looked up without needing to give an explanation. “I really am a wild child. So, what the hell are you gonna do to me, huh?”
nMrs. Xu charged toward Anhao and firmly poked her forehead with her finger. “Just who the hell do you think you are? How dare you impersonate a mayor’s daughter to study at A High School?”
nAnhao was suppressing the impulse to punch Mrs. Xu in the face without saying a word while clenching her fists in her school uniform pockets.
nShe accepted her fate of being bullied by these people here, as long as she did not have to return to the Gu family and ask for their help.
nMrs. Xu immediately wanted to slap her in the face after seeing this little girl neither being apologetic nor intending to surrender.
nAs she had just lifted her hand, the expressions of the two policemen standing next to her suddenly changed at that moment.
nEveryone glanced abruptly at the door just as a cold voice rang from behind Anhao.
n“In the practices of criminal justice, acquittals are rather rare, do you all plan to be one of the few rare cases?”
nMrs. Xu froze for a moment upon hearing that voice. Then, she proceeded to look up at the man who had walked into the interrogation room.
nDue to the man’s cold voice, Anhao also subconsciously turned around and saw Zuo Hancheng entering the room in a calm manner, much to her surprise, as she did not think that he would really come. She was even more dumbstruck upon seeing two judicial policemen enter the room from behind him.
nMrs. Xu felt that the man looked a bit unfamiliar to her. As she was about to ask him who he was, the gasping sound from behind her startled her, stopping her from doing so.
nMrs. Xu then turned back and saw her husband walking up to him after getting up in astonishment. “Mr. Zuo, what brings you here?”
nAnhao was extremely clueless as to what had transpired around her. As that middle-aged female thug, Mrs. Xu, was about to slap Anhao, the man who suddenly fell from the sky pulled her toward him.
nZuo Hancheng only moved his handsome eyebrows and glanced back at them with an instantly motionless look after taking a glimpse at the little girl who got her school uniform on inside-out.
n“Mr. Xu, it’s an honor.”
n“Please, the honor is mine!”
nHe was even more shocked and terrified seeing Zuo Hancheng compared to when he saw Mayor Gu, Mr. Xu suddenly had a complete change in his attitude.
nAnd by the time he saw Zuo Hancheng taking Anhao, who was utterly incompatible to him, to his side in a protective manner, he asked in surprise, “Mr. Zuo, what… what’s going on here? And what does this Gu… this… this female student has anything to do with you?”
nAnhao’s body immediately became somewhat stiff after Zuo Hancheng placed his hand on her shoulder. Yet, she did not dare to act rashly, she merely secretly looked up at the man next to her.
nHe really came.
nStrictly speaking, both he and she were still strangers. However, she was surprised and also grateful when he managed to make it.
n“I thought that you wanted to see Gu Anhao’s parents.” Zuo Hancheng said in a soft voice.
nAt this moment, the principal finally came to his senses, there were not many people named Zuo in this vast A City that people would treat with such care.
nHe finally realized that the man with an extraordinary aura in front must be the legendary person in A City who no one would ever dare mess with.
nThen, the principal quickly stepped forward upon realizing this. “Then you must be Gu Anhao’s guardian, Mr. Zuo.”
nAnhao had almost become petrified at this moment. She felt that her head was tingling and numb the moment the man next to her lightly swept his eyes across her face.
nThe next thing she knew, there was a smile within his calm voice. “You can say that.”
nOf course it could be said that a newly-wedded husband would be counted as a guardian.
nAnhao was a little lost. What Mr. Zuo? Who the hell was Mr. Zuo anyway? And who in the world did she carelessly marry a month ago?
nMr. Xu’s legs turned to jelly upon hearing his answer. And by the time he attempted to lighten the mood, he froze the moment he heard Zuo Hancheng’s next words.
n“Since you all plan on taking a judicial approach to the incident of Anhao causing harm to somebody, then may I know the results of the injury evaluation report? Minor injury? Serious injury? Death infliction?”
nThe injuries of both Mrs. Xu’s sons were actually not that serious, she turned pale for a while upon hearing this.
nOriginally planning to teach this girl a lesson, they conspired with an acquaintance to create an injury evaluation report labeled ‘serious’.
nHowever, when she saw her husband being friendly and astonished in front of Mr. Zuo, upon fearing that their scheme might blow up in their faces, she did not dare to take out the fake report.
nAt this moment, Anhao realized why Zuo Hancheng was late. He probably got to the bottom of this matter before even coming here.
nThen, she directly turned to him and whispered, “You already knew everything before you came?”
nSlightly narrowing his black eyes, Zuo Hancheng looked down at her. “If I didn’t get to the bottom of this, I wouldn’t have known that you almost made them the last of their family line.”
nAnhao’s lips twitched.
n‘Last of their family line, he’s way more ruthless than me!’
nZuo Hancheng’s voice might not be loud, but everyone in the room could hear these words of his.
nMr. Xu did not dare retort either upon hearing that Zuo Hancheng was not too pleased seeing Mrs. Xu putting Anhao in a pickle on purpose just now.
nMr. Xu stepped forward while smiling apologetically. “This… Mr. Zuo, we heard that Gu Anhao has committed countless wrongdoings in A High School despite the fact that our children’s injuries are considerably not too serious, not to mention our two sons here were not the only ones she beat up. So, we just wanted to teach her a lesson… ”
nAnhao then immediately blurted out, “Then ask your sons why the hell I beat them up, for God’s sake!”
