nZuo Hancheng ignored her repeated tricks as he continued running his hand through her pyjamas despite her protests. Anhao was desperately trying to protect her body by blocking his hand as she tried to curl her body into a ball. After that, she leaned toward Zuo Hancheng as she showed him the left side of her cheek. “Look! My face is really hurting. Just look! I am not lying…”

nZuo Hancheng continued ignoring her and Anhao could only reach out her hand and grabbed his hand to stop him from touching her body.

nHowever, Zuo Hancheng took advantage of this opportunity to grab her hands as he pressed it against the sofa before he started kissing her on the lips. Anhao could feel his warm lips against her lips and she could feel her body warming up because of the tension that she was feeling.

nSuddenly, the cell phone on the table started ringing. Gu Anhao’s cell phone ringtone was particularly weird and unpleasant. She initially chose this ringtone to flaunt her rebellious personality, and she kept forgetting to change the ringtone.

nThe ringtone sounded like magic to Zuo Hancheng at this time. After a low gasp, he looked toward the coffee table as he stared at the cell phone that was ringing.

nAnhao pushed him away before she said, “I am going to answer the phone.”

nZuo Hancheng lowered his head as he whispered into her ear in a low voice, “This is the second time. Don’t think that I will let you off so easily the next time.”

nAs Anhao listened to his low and deep voice ringing in her ears, she could feel her heart beating franticall. Her face was flushed red as she said, “What do you mean second time?”

nZuo Hancheng got up from the sofa without replying. After that, he turned around and immediately walked toward the bathroom. It seemed as though he was going to take a cold shower. Anhao finally understood what he meant.

nThis was the second time that he was taking a cold shower because of her. Anhao blushed as she sat up on the sofa. Her cell phone had already stopped ringing after a short while before it started ringing again. Anhao quickly straightened out her pyjamas before picking up the cell phone on the coffee table. She hesitated for a moment when she saw the strange and unknown number on her caller ID. After that, she decided to answer the call. “Hello?”

n“Hello, am I speaking to Gu Anhao?”

nThere was a young man’s voice over the other end of the line. Even though he was a stranger, his voice was very gentle and crisp and there was no way anyone could find him unpleasant at all.

nAnhao looked at the caller ID suspiciously before she placed the cell phone against her ear again. “Yes, this is Gu Anhao. May I know who I am speaking to?”

n“Mobai didn’t pass my contact information to you? I am Mobai’s junior in high school. I graduated not too long ago and I took up some tutoring jobs when I had nothing else to do for the past two years. Mobai told me that you are looking for a tutor to help you with your studies in your third year of high school. That is why he contacted me.”

nAnhao was speechless because even though she did not want any tutor to help her with her studies, this person had already called her. Moreover, there was no way that she could refuse him because Zuo Hancheng was the one who asked Mobai to arrange this tuition class for her.

nTherefore, Anhao had no choice but to smile and reply, “Oh! Mobai told me about this but I totally forgot about it.”

nIn fact, Anhao was surprised that Mobai actually hired a male tutor for her.

nIt seemed as though Mobai obviously did not know about the true nature of the relationship between Zuo Hancheng and herself.

nAnhao glanced at the bathroom behind her before she smirked and replied, “Well, I think that I will not need your help today. I will contact you after my classes on Monday, okay?”

n“Okay, don’t worry, you can contact me anytime you want but Mobai told me that you will be sitting for your final examinations in one month’s time. I would suggest that you hurry up and catch up on your studies as soon as possible so that you can improve your scores.”

nThe tone used by the tutor made Anhao feel very comfortable and she did not feel disgusted by him at all. Even though she did not like to be pushed by others, she could understand the other party’s desire to earn some extra income by providing her with tuition lessons. Therefore, she made an appointment for him to come over to guide her in her studies the next day. After hanging up the phone, Anhao stood up before straightening out her pyjamas and her messy hair. She raised her hand to touch her face, she felt that it was a little warm at the moment. Anhao decided to wash her face in cold water but when she looked toward the direction of the bathroom, she suddenly remembered that someone was still taking a cold shower in the bathroom.

nEven though this was a very big house, only a few rooms on the first floor had been renovated. This was because Zuo Hancheng had always lived alone and he only needed one bedroom and one bathroom. It was clear that this luxurious and beautiful place was not used to its fullest potential!

nIt seemed as though Zuo Hancheng felt that it was unnecessary to renovate the other rooms and bathrooms on the second floor.

nA short while later, Zuo Hancheng came out of the bathroom. As expected, there was a cool feeling and atmosphere around him as he stepped out of the bathroom. Anhao did not go close to him because she did not want to tease him anymore. She simply stood at the other end of the living room as she tried to avoid making any eye contact with him.

nAfter walking out of the bathroom, Zuo Hancheng glanced at her before asking, “So, who called you just now?”

n“The tutor that you asked Mobai to arrange for me. Initially, we were supposed to make an appointment to meet up today but I forgot to contact him. That is why he called to make an appointment with me.”

nZuo Hancheng observed the expression on her face and this time, he was certain that she was not lying. Therefore, he turned around before walking toward the closet to change into a new set of clothes. However, as he walked past the sofa, the cell phone that was placed on the coffee table caught his eye.

n“Please change your ringtone as soon as possible.”

nAnhao already knew that Zuo Hancheng did not like her strange ringtone but it seemed as though Zuo Hancheng was in a better mood after taking a cold shower.

nHowever, she knew better than to offend him. Therefore, she smiled before she replied, “Um, okay. I will change it later.”

nIt was a rare occasion for Gu Anhao to actually be so obedient. Therefore, Zuo Hancheng could not help but turn around to look at her as he asked, “What are you up to this time?”

nAnhao laughed out loud as she figured that there was really no way that she could hide anything from him. Therefore, she pointed a finger upstairs before she asked, “Can I get someone to finish renovating the other rooms and bathrooms on the second floor?”

nIf she continued sharing the same bed in the same bedroom as Zuo Hancheng, she would definitely be eaten by him sooner or later!

nShe had to save herself. She should not continue living in the lion’s den.

nWhen Zuo Hancheng saw the hopeful expression on Gu Anhao’s face, he could see through all of her thoughts. However, since she only had one more month before her final examination, Zuo Hancheng did not turn down her request as he simply replied, “Do whatever you want to.”

nAfter that, he turned around before changing into a new set of clothes. Anhao secretly put up a peace sign as she celebrated her small victory. She smiled to herself as she walked up the second floor to plan the structure and layout of her future bedroom.

nOn Monday, Gu Anhao’s face was better after two days of recuperation. Even though the swelling had already subsided, anyone could tell that her face was still slightly swollen and red if they looked closely.

nSince Zuo Hancheng had already thrown away all the cosmetics in her bag, Anhao could only rush back to her dormitory to borrow some foundation and lipstick from her roommates. Anhao quickly put some foundation on her face to reduce the redness on her cheek before applying some lipstick.

nChunchun could not help but ask what exactly happened to her cheek. Anhao did not mention anything about Yi Zeyang, only mentioning that Mrs. Gu hit her a few days ago.

nChunchun and Huang Amao were so furious and they stepped out of the dormitory in anger to seek revenge for Anhao but she dragged the both of them back into the dormitory.

n“That was how I have been living in the Gu family for the past few years anyway. Currently, my life is already much better compared to the past. I was just unfortunate to run into the mother and daughter the other night. Otherwise, I would not have gotten slapped by her.”

n“How can you endure this kind of treatment from them?” Chunchun asked as she was not convinced at all. She could not bear to see Anhao in distress.

n“Who would want to endure it? However, I have no choice but to endure it. After all, Mrs. Gu and Gu Shishi are related biologically and they are Gu Tianming’s real and legal family members. If I lift even one finger and touch them with it, I will be dead within a few seconds.”
