n“I didn’t know that you love me so much that you would actually be searching for news about me when I’m not at home.”

nGu Anhao smirked before she replied, “You are too narcissistic! Even if all the women in the world long for you, I will not be thinking about you!”

nZuo Hancheng glanced at her before he answered, “That’s right. I seriously overestimated you. You are not a woman yet.”

nGu Anhao closed her eyes as she clenched her fists tightly together. After that, she opened her eyes before she eyed him suspiciously before she turned around to look at the webpage again. “Why isn’t there any news about you getting caught by the reporters and paparazzi at Deways Hotel last night? Did you pay them off already?”

nZuo Hancheng did not reply to her question as he merely glanced at the laptop screen. He turned away from the laptop screen when he saw that the news that was in the headlines was still regarding the actress who had attempted to commit suicide by jumping of a building. The media was also offering ten million yuan to anyone who would be able to provide any inside information about Zuo Hancheng.

n“Why must it be posted online?” Zuo Hancheng asked indifferently. The expression on his face was very cold at this time.

nGu Anhao choked after being questioned. “Didn’t you see that the media has already posted a cash reward for anyone who can provide any inside information about you? The media is desperately trying to get more information on the president of Shengling Group! Do you know that they are offering a reward of ten million yuan?”

nZuo Hancheng’s brows were raised as he stared at Gu Anhao. “Gu Anhao! Are you sure that you are just a nineteen-year-old high school student?”

nAnhao blinked as she looked at the dissatisfied expression on Zuo Hancheng’s face.

n“But you are right…” Anhao suddenly spoke again. “When that woman was standing next to you yesterday, I didn’t have the feeling that she was your girlfriend at all. Even though she was very shy and even though she looked happy to be photographed with you, she does not seem to be compatible with someone like you anyway.”

n“I think you would fit the description very well then.”

nAnhao stared at him with a furious expression on her face. “Do you really think I resemble a white lotus flower? How do I resemble one?”

nZuo Hancheng ignored her outburst that occurred because she felt insulted. After that, he sneered before he replied, “So, do you really think I would be that blind to look for a woman that is like a white lotus flower?”

nAnhao was stunned for a moment before she finally regained her composure.

nShe reflected on his words, and after some time, she realized that Zuo Hancheng was actually complimenting her in an indirect manner. It was obvious that the only reason why he was willing to marry her was because she was not that type of person.

nAnhao’s rage disappeared as quickly as it came. After that, she sat down and leaned against the back of the sofa before she picked up one of the pillows and hugged it before glancing at the time. “It’s only two o’clock in the afternoon. Why are you back so early?”

n“Your husband is not a robot. When the company is busy, I will naturally be busy. However, I will also have my own free time. Since I do not have any more work on hand, it is only natural for me to come back home so that I can have some peace and quiet.”

nAs soon as he was done speaking, Zuo Hancheng suddenly raised his hand as he rubbed his eyebrows gently as though he was in deep thoughts. “I obviously made a mistake…”

n“Yes.” Anhao nodded without making any more noise.

n“Was Mrs. Gu the one who slapped you?”

n“Yes… how did you guess it?”

nWell, it would not be that surprising if he had guessed that it was a member of the Gu family, but how did he know that it was Mrs. Gu?

nZuo Hancheng raised his hand as he gently stroked her red and swollen cheek. Even though his touch was very light and gentle, it was still painful and Anhao could only endure the pain.

n“I saw Mrs. Gu and your step-sister when I was at Deways Hotel,” Zuo Hancheng replied softly.

n“Oh.” Anhao suddenly recalled the confrontation that she had with Mrs. Gu and Gu Shishi at the bathroom in Deways Hotel the other night. She felt a little helpless and wronged but she did not want to display her feelings in front of Zuo Hancheng. Therefore, she chose to keep silent and she did not say anything else.

nThis was until Zuo Hacheng suddenly asked, “Why did you go to Deways Hotel that night?”

nAnhao raised her head as she looked at Zuo Hancheng in surprise. “Huh?”

nZuo Hancheng could see the guilt in her eyes and he glanced at the laptop that was on the table as he thought about the so-called ten million yuan reward that Anhao told him about earlier. After that, there was a cold expression on his face as he locked eyes with Anhao.

n“Were you following me? You were trying to take a few pictures of me so that you could get the ten million yuan cash reward?”

nAnhao lowered her head because she knew that she would not be able to hide the truth from Zuo Hancheng.

nHowever, she could not stop herself from muttering under her breath, “If I knew that those reporters and paparazzi were not going to publish those pictures, then I should have taken out my cell phone to take a few photos of you that day. I would have taken a really nice and intimate picture of you and that woman from where I was standing the other night. I wasted that opportunity…”
