nChapter 33
n“No! There’s no such man or guy! You’re overthinking it!”
nShe said as she pulled the blanket over her head to avoid his gaze as per usual. In the end, just as she had covered her head, she heard him say, “When you were out for the past two days, you kept murmuring ‘brother’ in your dreams.”
nAnhao’s entire body suddenly tensed up. She immediately pulled down the blanket and looked at him, but she saw Zuo Hancheng’s at the side of the bed staring down at her with cold eyes.
n“Why have I never heard of this before? Does Gu Tianming have a son? Brother? Where did you get a brother?”
nAnhao did not know why she was so nervous. There was nothing between her and Yi Zeyang. Even if she dreamt of her past, unconsciously murmuring ‘brother’ in her dreams, that did not mean that she was mentally cheating on him.
nHowever, when she was faced with Zuo Hancheng, she could hardly find the words to answer him, making her feel like she had really cheated on him.
nShe then recalled how afraid the Xu family was of him. She did not know what kind of god Zuo Hancheng was and where he came from. What if he found out she was related to Yi Zeyang? Would something happen to him?
nEven though the Yi family also had a big family business and they were also quite prestigious in A City, she believed that it would be better that he did not know too much. As such, she could not tell him.
n“There’s a super fan called Huang Amao in our dorm room. Every day, she would stick a bunch of posters of Korean stars on the wall and would keep swooning and yelling ‘brother’ before she sleeps. So I also followed her footsteps in calling them brothers, not only that, I know how to say Oppa too~”
nAnhao explained as she lifted her chin—displaying an expression that seemed rather brave, “What’s wrong? Zuo Hancheng? Hancheng Oppa? Are you satisfied with this explanation?”
nSeeing that she was trying to act cute to hide the truth, Zuo Hancheng ridiculed her saying, “Wasn’t it uncle?”
n“What the f*ck! Uncle?! Don’t even try to take advantage of me! I was just talking nonsense before. You’re not even thirty so how the f*ck can I call you unc—”
nJust when Anhao was at the climax of her act, she suddenly felt cold arrows coming from Zuo Hancheng’s eyes. She instantly realized that she had just cussed a lot and immediately zipped up her mouth.
n“Never let me hear another dirty word come from that small mouth of yours, Anhao. You may try to challenge my limits.”
nA chill ran down her spine.
nDid this man need to be so stern? She promised that she would listen to him, but this was too tyrannical and domineering!
nShe looked up to glare at him, but as she met his gaze, she looked down again gloomily.
nFine, she needed to keep her head down for now! When Lord Anhao seeks revenge, even ten years would not be too late!
n***
nAfter having slept for days, Anhao did not know if she was fed anything to eat. However, since this was a hospital, the doctor should have given her drips for sustenance.
nEven though her body did not lack any nutrition, she felt really hungry.
nNot even a few hours after she had woken up, she put on a melancholic face and kept on drinking warm water while staring at the man who was reading documents by the windows.
nTo ignore such an important patient like her and leaving her with just warm water to drink—he was not gentle at all!
nHe was supposed to be her husband, and her husband that rescued her from the hands of gangsters.
nWas he not supposed to sit by her side and coax her while holding her hand? Comfort her by telling her that with hubby by her side there was nothing to be afraid of?
nIn the end, that man called Mobai—who seemed to be his assistant, brought a pile of documents for him to look at and left to settle other things.
nAnhao suspected that the pile of documents were actually work-related matters that had accumulated while he was abroad.
nThere was so much to go through. Who was this person?
nMore importantly, she was absolutely starving!
nDid this man feel no sympathy? Why could he not just take the initiative to come over and ask her if she was hungry or not?
nShe was in a stalemate for quite a while and Anhao finally could not take it anymore. Zuo Hancheng was still looking through the documents—he had probably forgotten about her existence.
nShe suddenly reached out her hand and lightly knocked on the table beside the bed.
nZuo Hancheng lifted his head to look at her. Anhao said, “I want to eat scallops!”
nAs the words left her mouth, Zuo Hancheng closed up the documents in his hand, stood up and walked toward her.
n“Scallops? Right now, you’ve contracted a viral infection. Your fever will only go down when the rashes have appeared. Eating seafood—do you want to die?”
n“I won’t die from eating a few scallops…” Anhao muttered softly. “Then give me rice with beef…”
n“Beef, mutton, eggs, seafood and spicy food—you’re forbidden from eating these for now.”
nAnhao really felt like she was about to go insane. She did not know that there was a possibility of her getting a viral rash, no wonder she has a fever. Why in the world did she look for trouble and run into the freezing rain?!
nShe was lucky to still be alive right now!
n“Whatever, any food is fine. I’m hungry!” Anhao sadly lifted her gaze. “I want to eat something.”
nZuo Hancheng’s eyebrows moved slightly. Seeing her pitiable expression, he finally caved in. He called Mobai to fetch her something from one of the more hygienic restaurants in the hospital.
nHowever, because Anhao had been burning up for a few days now, even though she was hungry, she still ended up throwing up the things she ate. After a night of torment, she looked totally washed out, not having the energy to even make a squeak. She lay motionlessly in bed as she obediently waited for the nurse to give her an injection.
nThe doctor said that this kind of viral rash was common, and she would be fine after the rash had appeared. All she had to do was to pull through the fever stage which was rather unbearable. It was easier said than done as she felt absolutely terrible to the point where she felt like dying.
nLooking at her writhing about and moaning uncomfortably, Zuo Hancheng did not bully her anymore. However, it seemed like he had moved his entire office into the hospital. If he was not receiving calls on matters that needed his immediate attention, then there would be some important documents that needed his perusal or his signature.
nAfter having seen him being so busy for the past two days in the hospital, Anhao was really curious as to what kind of a big boss he was and where he had come from.
nFinally, in one of the afternoons, as Zuo Hancheng had to return to his company for an urgent international-scale meeting, he had his assistant, Mobai, stay back in the hospital.
nMobai came in after fetching Anhao’s daily medicine that she needed to take at fixed times. Anhao immediately waved her hand at him. “Hey, handsome. Come over here for a bit~ Over here~”
nHe saw Anhao, who looked a bit pale but was acting like she was full of vigour, sitting on the bed. Mobai froze for a moment and walked over all confused, “Is there something you need, Ms. Gu?”
n“Hey, I have a question for you.” Anhao slightly shifted to the side of the bed and purposely lowered her volume as she asked, “Let me ask you this. Your boss, that is, Zuo Hancheng. I’ve been hearing you calling him President Zuo. Who in the world is he? Which company are you guys from?”
nMobai was utterly taken aback.
nWas Ms. Gu joking with him?
nPresident Zuo had been taking care of her in the ward for days, he was thinking that this lady and President Zuo shared a special relationship, when in actual fact, she did not even know who President Zuo was.
