nChapter 13

n“This is your home?”

nAnhao stared at this clean and tidy room with simple décor and without any feminine touch. Even when Zuo Hancheng changed his shoes just now, there was only a pair of male slippers on the floor.

nShe thought that he was going to take her to one of his houses for the night. She did not think that he would actually bring her to his own residence.

n“What place did you think this was?”

nZuo Hancheng found it funny when he looked at her cautious and alert expression He then walked toward her.

nAs Anhao was hugging her bag and ready to run away at any time, he bent down in front of her, took out a box of brand new slippers that had not been opened from the shoe cabinet, and put them beside her feet.

n“It’s late, go to the bathroom and clean yourself up, rest earlier.”

nAfter saying so, his gaze did not stop on her still cautious face. He turned around and went straight into the study after taking a mug.

nAt the same time, his phone rang. It seemed that there was some work that he needed to attend to, or maybe it was because what had happened in the afternoon and evening had delayed many of his work, he still needed to work at this time of night.

nHe did not close the study door as he answered the phone and calmly said, “Send me those e-documents after you have sorted them out.”

nSeeing that he was actually busy with work, Anhao let out a sigh of relief, bent down, and changed into the pair of slippers.

nAfter opening that box of new slippers, it appeared to be a pair of dark-grayish men’s slippers. she paused, and was certain that people rarely came to Zuo Hancheng’s residence. The probability of women coming here regularly was even lower. That was why he only prepared one pair of slippers, the others were newly bought and kept in the shoe cabinet just in case.

nAfter she was done changing her shoes, she heard Zuo Hancheng in the study turning on his computer and he seemed to be reading some documents.

nAs Zuo Hancheng was busy in the study, she first went into the bathroom to take a shower. She frequently needed to change her clothes when going to the bar at night, which was a good thing as she had a set of fresh undergarments sandwiched in her bag.

nAfter she was done taking a shower and had once again put on her clothes, she opened the bedroom door straight away. After opening the door, she saw a clean and completely masculine room, it was simple just like the living room.

nShe then stared at the king-sized bed that seemed to be really soft and comfortable, and guessed that this room belonged to Zuo Hancheng. So she left, wanting to find another room for her to sleep in.

nHowever after walking around in the house, and even stomping up to the second floor, she sadly found out that this duplex apartment with such a big area and two floors at that, did not have any other rooms on the second floor that were furnished. Even though they were renovated, clearly the owner thought that a single floor was enough for him to live in, and so there was not much on the second floor.

nAnd there was only one room and one bed on the first floor!

nShe then ran downstairs to the study and said angrily, “Zuo Hancheng! What are you planning! How am I going to sleep when there’s only one bedroom?”

nZuo Hancheng heard her voice, stood up, and walked out.

nSeeing him walk out and coming closer to herself, Anhao immediately raised her hands and covered her chest, and retreated a few steps back. Having stepped backward, she inadvertently had her back up against the bedroom door. She pointed a finger at him. “Stop! Don’t move! Don’t come any closer to me!”

nZuo Hancheng smiled slightly. In the end, she was still a nineteen-year-old child.

n“Did you, on our first night alone after we got married, plan to sleep on a separate bed from your husband?”

nAnhao’s face turned bright red after hearing his words, her hands were wrapped around herself tightly. “You would even sleep with a high schooler! How shameless can you be!”

nThe moment she said those words, Zuo Hancheng’s long legs stepped forward and had already trapped her in between the bedroom door and his body and long arms.

nAn aura of danger filled the air, Anhao did not have the slightest idea on how to confront this person who was legally her husband, but in reality a stranger to her.

nA man that she had thought would rescue her from problems during the day, a man who transformed into a beast at night!

nCompared to before when she had not changed her clothes, he was stunned for a short moment after seeing her now. She was leaning against the door looking helpless and afraid, and because she had just showered, her body emitted a faint scent of shampoo.

nHer bob hair was slightly messy, it seemed like it had not been trimmed for more than two months as it was already growing below her ears. She no longer looked like a tomboy, and running upstairs and back down made her small blushing face become much redder.

nHe thought that he had simply married a strange little stray cat, but he was not expecting this girl after having shed her defensive self, to actually be a clear and delicate rough diamond that he could not help but hold in his palm after one look.

nDetecting the gazes that were up to no good from Zuo Hancheng very near to herself, Anhao gritted her teeth.

n“Don’t think that I don’t know the law just because I’m bad at my studies! I need to be twenty years old to get married! I don’t know what you did to let me get that marriage certification successfully a month ago, but let me warn you, if u dare force anything on me, I’ll sue you for marital rape… Ah—”

nBefore Anhao could finish convincing him, the man’s fingers rested on her forehead.

nThat warm touch surprised her to the point where she curled up tightly almost into a ball as she leaned against the door. As he was standing right in front of her she could not avoid him, she could only lift her gaze nervously, the throbbing pain on her forehead made her respond unhappily, “What are you doing?”

nZuo Hancheng stroke her forehead that was wounded by Mrs. Xu’s nail. Even though there was still a bruise, it was not a very serious wound. There was no need to apply any medicine, it seemed it would subside after tonight.

nHe looked down on her unhappy expression. In the next moment, his arms beside her suddenly closed in, and he immediately embraced her.

nAnhao was shocked and yelled as she shrank backward until her whole body was pressed against him on the bedroom’s wooden door. She lowered her head to avoid him and shouted, “Ahh! Let me go!”

n“Why are you not able to sleep with just one bedroom?”

nShe struggled for a moment and realized that Zuo Hancheng had already released her.

nShe was the one who was snuggling up to him thinking that there was some sort of shackle beside her as she kept hitting his chest. After hearing his voice, Anhao returned to her senses immediately and retreated from his embrace the next second. She blushed as she once again leaned against the door.

n“Could it be that I need to coax you myself for you to sleep?”

nZuo Hancheng’s arm was already reaching out, holding her arm as he was about to open the door and pull her in.

nAnhao was suddenly like a cat that had its tail stepped on as she jumped up. “No! I can sleep on my own!”

nShe slapped his hand off and opened the door as she entered quickly, she immediately locked the bedroom door from the inside. She then placed her ear on the door to listen, as she looked down and see that it was locked she exhaled with relief.

nAs she was really tired, after ensuring that the bedroom door was locked and all was safe, Anhao collapsed on that big and comfy bed as she slept deeply.
